When John and I first got engaged we talked about doing something small. We talked about getting married in New York City, which is where we got engaged last December.
NYC has always had a special place in our hearts. It’s where John told me he loved me on New Years Eve in 2007 and it’s where he asked me to be his wife in 2010.
We thought of having a small ceremony somewhere in the city with only our families and a few close friends and doing dinner at Mesa Grill (which is our favorite restaurant in the city and where John proposed).
When push came to shove we decided to do a more traditional wedding in Florida. We’ll still only have around 65 guests but we’ll have the comfort of knowing everyone we wish could be there, will be there.
We would rather regret not doing something smaller, than regret not doing it up the more traditional way. I never went to my high school prom and it’s something I feel as though I missed out on. I didn’t want that for my wedding.
With that being said, we have 173 days to go (just under six months)! I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by. Before I know it I’ll be Mrs. Rutherford.
